Where is the studio and can I visit in person?

The studio is at 118 N 14th Street, Studio 3B, Brooklyn, NY 11249, and is open by appointment year-round so collectors can see work in progress on the easels.

How long does a typical commission take?

Most portraits and murals are completed 8–14 weeks from deposit to delivery, depending on size, medium, and complexity. Larger installations are scoped individually.

Does the studio take international commissions?

Yes. Painter Ilya has delivered finished work to collectors in 14 countries across four continents, with crating and freight arranged through the studio's white-glove logistics partner.

Is there a fee for the initial consultation?

No. The 30-minute discovery consultation is complimentary and carries no obligation to proceed.

A Note From Ilya

Write to us the way you would write to a friend.

The studio is small, and it is run by hand. When you reach out, your note lands on a desk — not a queue — and I read it myself before anyone else does. If you have a wall you are looking at, a photograph you keep returning to, or a person you would like preserved in pigment, tell me about it. There is no form to fill out and no script to follow.

A first message is most useful when it includes three things: the room or subject you have in mind, the size you imagine the finished work to be, and the window of time you are working within. Everything else — medium, framing, whether to travel to you for a sitting — we work out together, usually across a single thirty-minute call.
